Grim Up North | Manchester, U.K.

When I told my friend I had visited both Manchester and Liverpool and favored Liverpool, she replied “It’s quite grim up North!” Manchester was not my favorite stop but I had to visit the city to satisfy my curiosity. I felt ready to conquer the world after visiting the Chester Beatty library and sitting at the very same table where Marx and Engels brewed up The Communist Manifesto. The library was free to visit and was one of the oldest libraries I had ever seen, definitely worth the visit to see books chained to their respective cases. As the world knows, the English love their tea so what is more fitting than an Alice and Wonderland themed Tea room? Possibly my favorite activity in Manchester was having a beautiful cup of tea at the Richmond Tea Rooms.
