Wandering the streets of Monastiraki Square near my hostel, I walked by a cafe and saw plates of chocolate sauce on every table. I had to investigate. Dessert beyond your wildest dreams awaits you at Το Σερμπετόσπιτο της Νάνσυ or Nancy's Sweet Home. Go. You will not regret it.
The Acropolis was there first and everyone used to live around it. Now, the people of Greece are more spread out and no longer worship the temple by living at the foot of it, however, it remains the focal point of Athens. My shabby chic little hostel even had a view of it.
Pulling over is worth the hassle to check out this refreshing beach nestled between a gorge, fed by a freshwater waterfall, and abutted by the Mediterranean ocean.
